We invite nominations to participate in the Junior Faculty Consortium at the 6th Biennial Meeting of the Indian Academy of Management. This workshop will feature panel discussions on topics of interest to junior faculty as well as small group research discussions led by senior scholars in the field. The discussion topics include conducting high‐impact research, effective teaching strategies and preparing for the “teacher” role, and the challenges and rewards of an academic life, in the Indian context. There will also be ample opportunities to connect with peers as well as senior scholars in various settings.

HOW TO APPLY: 

This consortium is targeted at junior faculty in Indian institutions – recent PhDs (and less than four years in faculty role). To participate, the applicant must be (a) registered to attend the 6th Biennial INDAM Conference at IIM‐Trichy, and (b) must have earned the doctoral degree within the last four years. The consortium will have limited enrollment to ensure that senior faculty and participants have ample time to interact in both structured and unstructured venues, as well as to spend time working intensively on their research ideas with senior faculty and others. Space is limited and filled on firstcome, first‐served basis.

To participate in the Junior Faculty Consortium, please send the following information by email to the workshop organizers by December 15, 2019. 

(a) Name and address (with current mail and e‐mail addresses, and telephone numbers) 

(b) Current research interests

(c) A 5‐6 page (double spaced) summary of a working paper or project in progress that will be forwarded to relevant senior faculty who have agreed to participate as mentors as well as to other participants who share similar interests. This summary is important because it will be used to identify discussion groups for workshop sessions.

(d) A current curriculum vitae

Acceptance decisions will be conveyed within a week after receiving the application packet. The Consortium will be held on January 1st from about 2:00 PM. Detailed agenda and other material will be sent to consortium participants at least a week prior to the meeting.
